Privacy statement for our models & ambassadors
You bring our campaigns to life, so it matters that you understand how we look after your personal data. Here's a clear, plain-language guide to what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have at every step.
This Privacy Statement explains how Hunkemöller processes personal data of models, talent, agents, influencers, and external ambassadors.
01 : What we collect
• Content: photographs and videos.
• Contact details: names, product sizes, social media handles, email address, telephone numbers, payment details, and the addresses to which products are sent.
• Engagement data: how posts perform (such as interactions, impressions and clicks) and audience profile, demographics and characteristics.
• Additional personal data when we take models, talent, influencers or ambassadors on brand trips: identification documents required to book travel, medical needs, and allergies or dietary requirements.
02 : Why we use it & who sees it
The main purpose of processing these photos and other categories of personal data is to market our products. This means recipients include the public at large who see our advertisements such as billboards or sponsored ads, our Instagram, Tiktok and Pinterest followers. Other recipients include touch up professionals, external marketing agencies, and technology providers (such as Google Drive, Salesforce).
Working with AI
We also work with artificial intelligence to generate content based on photos and to generate videos of our products. This involves sharing personal data of models, talent, influencers and ambassadors with AI companies. Hunkemöller ensures our agreements with these providers meet GDPR requirements. For example, we do not allow our images of our models and talent to be used in training algorithms.
Marketplaces & retailers
We also work with marketplaces and third parties who sell our products, such has Bol, Zalando and Amazon. These marketplaces use our images of our products and models, talent, influencers and ambassadors on their websites.
03 : Models & Talent
For models and talent, we have agreements with agents and agencies that dictate how we use images and video content. These agreements include for how long Hunkemöller has rights to the content (buy out period), and our use across different channels and recipients. We collect personal data from models and talent indirectly – from the agencies – instead of directly from the individuals.
The legal basis for processing personal data of models and talent is our legitimate interest in promoting our products and brand. This processing balances the privacy of the models and talent because it is done within the terms of our contract with the modelling agency, which represent the models and talent.
We use models and talent content for marketing purposes until the buy period has ended. After a buyout period ends, as agreed in the contracts, we may continue to use images or content for internal purposes, such as mood boards, or ideas generation.
04 : Influencers and external ambassadors
For influencers and ambassadors, our marketing team works with them to send them products and manage content produced as a result. We contract directly with influencers and ambassadors and collect personal data directly.
The legal basis for processing personal data about influencers and ambassadors is contractual necessity. We have contracts with influencers and ambassadors which can involve payment or the provision of products in exchange for content. Our use of photos and content changes according to our different campaigns, which means the processing of the personal data can also change. For example, sometimes we focus a campaign on a certain channel.
We may continue using this content for marketing purposes until the campaign has ended or the product is taken off our website. Even after we no longer work with an influencer or ambassador, we may continue to use content internally for mood boards and idea generation.
Hunkemöller collects personal data from influencers and ambassadors:
- directly via onboarding forms, emails, WhatsApp or contracts
- directly when influencers or ambassadors send us with their content via WeTransfer
- indirectly via public social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok) via our vendor Flowbox or influencer marketing platforms (CreatorIQ)
